News: Arrow Geophysics assists major utility provider to explain the unexplainable

Arrow Geophysics proved their true worth in March when a major southern based utility provider called them in to assist in identifying the cause of major land slippage, near a multi-million gallon reservoir, key motorway and rail intersections and 100, 000 homes. Arrow Geophysics used a range of techniques to identify the root cause of the landslip which then provided the client with the data of what was above and below the ground which then allowed a contractor to outline a variety of options to make good the unexplained damage to an apparently solid earthworks. Tim Archer, MD of Arrow Geophysics said,“We had to get out all of the tools in our arsenal for this job, it was high pressure, with the client requiring real accurate data about what was below ground which we sourced and then interpreted. This allowed us to work with the client and their sub-contractor on identifying a realistic solution to the problem. We de-risked the situation long before heavy equipment was on site, keeping costs down and ensuring when the contractor started they were able to get to the root of the problem immediately and with limited expenditure.”
