News: Arrow flies high on Guinea electromagnetic survey
When a global giant seeks out a smaller business it is always a sign that they recognise the skills which are unique to that business and our latest posting is just such an example.
Tim Archer, Managing Director of Arrow Geophysics, has a background in mineral exploration and so when a UK based mining company looked him up due to his past experience it was a pleasant surprise. The company were undertaking an electromagnetic survey from the air in the African republic of Guinea and needed the data interpreted so that a prioritisation of the drill sites and possible minerals could be modelled.
Normally at this point our heroic Managing Director heads for the airport with a toothbrush and his favourite teddy bear but alas it wasn’t to be. With the wonders of modern technology the data was transmitted to an HQ in Canterbury and Tim undertook the interpretation and reporting remotely.
“Mining is a huge part of my background” said Tim, “so to get the call asking for help on the interpretation of electromagnetic data was exciting for me. We found all kinds of things from the survey and it was good to keep those particular skills honed, especially without having to make the trip out to Guinea.”
